WHERE TO START

How to inspect your home yourself:

The first place to look will be places bed bugs like most: beds. You will need to flip over your mattresses and box springs to look underneath.

What you are looking for will be live/dead bugs, dropping, blood stains, and eggs. The eggs are best described as very sticky salt pieces.

You will then begin to look in the seams of your mattresses and box springs and continue until every area has been inspected. Did not find anything? Great! Now to do the same thing with your couches, sofas, and love seats!

If you did happen to find something during your inspection, it is now time to think about some sort of treatment. Bed bugs have the ability to multiply at rapid rates, and the longer you wait for treatment, the more bed bugs you will soon find in your home or business. And that’s not a scare tactic either, unfortunately. One pregnant bed bug can lay multiple eggs. Those bed bugs reproduce and lay more eggs. Then those bed bugs reproduce and lay even more eggs, which ends up producing up to 500 bed bugs within two months! Four months later: over 5,000 bed bugs can be hanging out with you! The good thing is, the sooner you treat, the cheaper your treatment will be, no matter which method you choose!
